The good
I learned while I was working in an Italian restaurant that it is better to scoop the pasta into the sauce pan, rather than draining the pasta - to preserve the pasta water (and reduce steps). It is also great if you want to blanch veggies in hot water or fry things. Overall very practical tool.

Why this one?
So this is not the exact one I have, but I like OXO products a lot so if I were to buy another one it would likely be this one. But otherwise I am not sure why I chose to buy one of these - I think I just realized I needed one?
