The Review
The good
It lets you drain pasta directly from the pot into the sink - like you just hold the comb up against the pot while you are pouring and it holds the pasta in. This seems maybe overly basic, but it means if I make just a little bit of pasta I do not need to wash pasta goop out of a colander - which I hate. Also if you are cooking spaghetti you can scoop it out of the pasta water into your sauce pot and keep the pasta water without needing to put pasta water in another container. It is also good for serving pasta.
Nitpicks
Somebody should really reproduce this design - it should not be discontinued!
Why this one?
The furnished apartment we have been renting is owned by an Italian/French couple and they had this tool here. I have never seen anything quite like it and thought maybe it was just an Italian thing. I just did a deep dive into the internet to find it, or something like it and learned that it was discontinued - and I can't seem to find a similar product. Luckily on the French version of craigslist I found one in Marseille and ordered it immediately.
